What are Survival Skills?
Survival skills are skills used to provide for the basic necessities of life and avoid danger. Those basic necessities include shelter, water, and food, and also making good decisions, and anticipating and avoiding serious injury or health problems. At BOSS, we teach wilderness survival skills that we believe are relevant in any environment.
What Skills Are The Most Important?
Technical skills such as shelter building, fire making, finding and treating water, and basic foraging and trapping techniques get a great deal of attention. All our experience and knowledge gleaned from survival literature tells us that mental survival skills are equally important: keeping a survival mindset, staying calm and making good decisions, and planning carefully.
We focus our efforts on teaching both the technical skills you would need to survive, and the mental skills that would allow you to.
