I CAME TO BOSS BECAUSE...
I actually worked with a few BOSS instructors at Aspen Achievement Academy and was curious. I admired BOSS's "old school" approach to being outdoors. I knew I had to work here.
I TEACH AT BOSS BECAUSE...
I teach at BOSS because I think a lot of modern programs lack what BOSS offers - an authentic immersion in the wilderness. BOSS courses students a very real, profound experience. And I love the staff I work with.
Interesting Trivia About Mike:
- Mike was raised in Southern Utah.
- Mike has been a wilderness therapy guide in Utah, an environment education instructor in Europe, and a dog sled racer in Alaska.
- He actually competed in a number of dogsled races, including the Knik 200, in which he placed 4th.
- The coldest weather Mike's ever been outside in is -65 degrees Fahrenheit. His lungs froze from breathing and, as a result, he was coughing blood for one month.
- In high school, Mike worked in a meat processing plant. He eventually worked his way up to becoming a professional butcher, serving clients throughout Southern Utah.
