A few years ago, BOSS instructors took Apollo 13 and Cast Away screenwriter William Broyles, Jr. to a desert island on Mexico's Sea of Cortez. For one week, we studied survival techiques which would relate to being stuck on a desert island. Almost all of the skills we covered and a lot of the hardships we faced were incorporated into the desert island scenes of the movie Cast Away, including Wilson.
