PETA and BOSS

In September, 2004, the activist group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) included BOSS in their "Action Alert" newsletter to raise concern over the slaughter of animals on our longer courses.

As a result of the Alert, many people who knew absolutely nothing about BOSS were sending us emails based on the information they read. Their letters are posted here on our website for you to read, as well as letters from BOSS alumni who I feel bring a more accurate depiction of the event and the philosophies of BOSS to you. With both sides represented here, you can decide for yourself if you choose to come on a course with us. You should know, however, that we at BOSS are proud of the courses we offer our students and stand firmly committed to teaching people the skills of traditional wilderness-based cultures, including those skills which may by necessity involve the taking of an animal's life so that a person can continue to live.

I suggest you start by reading the FAQ page, then read the BOSS Alumni Comments page and finally the PETA Member Comments page.
